Malaysia Road Trip on New Year’s Eve
Another road trip to Malaysia in less than a week.. hahaha.. hard to imagine.. but its true.. >,<
This time me and hubby went with hubby’s friends from Jakarta and Batam, there were around 10 of us.. We went for the New Year Eve’s weekend trip from 30 Dec 2009 till 2 Jan 2010..
From Singapore, we departed around late afternoon to KL.. the expressway doesn’t have many road lights at night time, thats why need to be carefull in driving.. hubby had prepared his specs to see the road clearly.. he had a little bit myopia degree for his eyes.. Oh and not to forget using the GPS hehe
Fortunately we went to different places in Malaysia, this time we spent our first 2-nights at the 3-stars hotel nearby to Sunway Lagoon, a water themepark at Selangor, KL..
At the Sunway Lagoon complex there is a big shopping mall and some restaurants and bars.. When we reached there it was quite late already.. we had our dinner at the rest area along the expressway.. after checked in, we went for late supper and I took some pic of the lights deco.. It’s been quite fun during X’mas and New Year seeing so many lights deco at night as mostly can be seen around big cities
We went to the Sunway Lagoon theme park on the next day.. woke up a bit late.. had our lunch at dunno where, as we just followed one of hubby’s friend who knew the way around
After lunch, we proceed to Sunway Lagoon themepark.. there has so many attractions.. we tried the Haunted house with the real person as actor inside.. I didn’t dare to open my eyes.. just followed hubby hehe..
The boys were swimming at the water park, while the gals only walked around.. the other 2 gals were trying to play the summo game haha.. what a funny experience.. I didn’t try it, just recording their game and take some pics haha..
We had fun during the day at the theme park.. after that we went back to hotel to prepare for our New Year’s eve celebration at Ministry of Sound (MOS), still within the complex.. Before that we had our buffet dinner at the 5-stars hotel around there..
Apparently there was one of hubby’s friend who having birthday on the January 1st, so we prepared a b’day cake for him before we went to MOS and gave him a surprise..
After the New Year’s count down and some small b’day celebration, we decided to leave the place.. too bad forgot to bring out the b’day cake with us.. so only few of us who tasted it.. think the b’day boy also didn’t have chance to try it haha..
This year I didn’t see any fireworks as we were celebrating inside the building.. felt a bit missing celebrating New Year’s eve without seeing fireworks like I used to see in my hometown, Jakarta ;(
On the next day, we prepared to check out and continue our road trip to Johor Bahru (JB).. before that we visited the KLCC, browsed around and continued the journey..
We spent another night at JB area.. taken a delicious dinner at one of the food street which I forgot the name hehe.. The next day, it’s time for us to go back Singapore again..
What a fun trip with some new friends.. ^^

Malaysia Family Road Trip Journal Dec 09
After pending for so long.. here goes my story..
We spent 3 days 2 nights in KL and Genting for our Christmas 2009 weekend holiday (25-27 Dec).. It’s the first time hubby drove to Malaysia.. quite tiring as we spent around 5 hours on the road from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur..
We went since early morning around 6 to 7 am but it’s already a long queue of cars at Tuas check point, so many Singaporean travel to Malaysia during long weekend season.. (of coz haha ;p)
Btw, if you can see it’s a bit drizzling in the early morning.. but later at around 8-9am during our road trip, the weather changed with a clear bright sky..
Oh ya btw, in this trip I went with sis in law’s family and hubby’s parents and youngest bro. Me, hubby, and his parents were sit together in one car, the others were in my bro in law’s car.. I became a navigator who helped hubby see the road sign and GPS.. GPS is a really must have tool when you going for a road trip, it’s very helpful for showing direction
As you can see I was a photographer too haha
We got stop for a few times to rest and had our breakfast.. we reached our hotel in KL around 12pm afternoon.. Hubby’s very tired, he suddenly fallen a sleep at the couch..
We had a really nice hotel in KL near Bukit Bintang area (Royale Chulan Hotel), thanks to our bro in law who doing the research and made the booking for this hotel..
They also provided a small Christmas gift to their guests, a cute Santa hanger that contained some biscuits and bread..
After a short nap, we walked to nearby shopping centre, The Pavilion, to have our lunch and some window shopping hehe ;p Oh we also walked around the Bukit Bintang street area and tried the Fish Spa in one of the shop there hehe :D
Its my first trial, I felt my feet were very ticklish couldn’t stand it, but after a while.. I tried to close my eyes and beared it haha.. >,<
After the fish spa, we took cab to Chinatown at Petaling Street to shop around and had our dinner.. after that went back to hotel to have a rest as the next day we’re going to Genting Highlands.. In the next morning we took our breakfast and continued our road trip to Genting, but before that we took a picture first hehe
It’s an hour journey to Genting, we stopped by to had our lunch first around Goa Gajah if I’m not wrong hehe then continue our road trip..
When we reached Genting, it’s a bit raining and the weather was so distinctive from KL.. it’s very cold, I grabbed my sweater and proceed for the check in at First World hotel.
After check in, we walked around the indoor theme park but I didn’t feel to play the attractions.. so only browsing around with hubby.. the hotel had some Christmas decoration lights so I took a picture of it..
Oh I went shopping there with hubby as there was a Sale at the hotel ballroom haha.. At night, we did try to see around the casino and hubby played a bit.. I went back to hotel room earlier to take a rest. The next day we went back to Singapore..
My sis in law and family went back to Singapore directly from Genting, as for us.. we spent a while at KL to visit my aunt’s home as my mom and grandmom also visited KL during that time..
After a short visit, we all went back to Singapore as it was quite late already.. and we still need a long hour to reach Singapore.. On the way back, I noticed a rainbow at the horizon and took a pic of it hehe..
What a nice and enjoyable short weekend gateaway~ ^^
